osu! glossary
This glossary defines the osu! terms that show up on TrackMyOsu and on osu!'s own site — pp, top plays, rank, accuracy, grades, and the rest. Each entry has a short definition, an example, and links to related terms. Click any term for the full explanation.
- PP (performance points)
- osu!'s skill rating: a decaying weighted sum of your best score on each ranked beatmap.
- Top play
- One of the highest-pp scores on your profile; best performance keeps one per beatmap.
- Global rank
- Your worldwide position among ranked osu! players, ordered by weighted profile pp.
- Country rank
- Your position among ranked osu! players from your country, ordered by weighted pp.
- Accuracy
- How cleanly you hit each object, as a percentage weighted by judgement value.
- Grades (SS, S, A, B, C, D)
- Letter grades D to SS awarded per play; thresholds differ by mode and by client.
- Combo
- A streak of consecutive hits without a break; max combo is the longest streak.
- Ranked score
- Sum of your best passing score on every ranked, approved and loved beatmap.
- Total score
- Every submitted score added together, including failed attempts and repeats.
- Play count
- The number of plays you have submitted, failed attempts included.
- Play time
- Cumulative seconds spent in osu! gameplay, reported per game mode.
- Level
- A cosmetic milestone derived entirely from total score, with no effect on pp or rank.
- Medal
- A one-off osu! achievement unlocked for a specific feat, across eight categories.
